Joining Shieldbase

I'm happy to announce that I've joined Shieldbase as a Forward Deployed Engineer.

Sometimes things happen in strange ways. I first met Diego, the founder of Shieldbase, when he had a small booth at a networking event a year or two ago. I can't stand networking events, but it was a partner event, so I made the effort to go. It so happens that one of my friends who is an angel investor was attending the event too, so at least I had friendly company (and there was also free beer). After sniffing around the various booths, I told my friend that the only interesting thing was the Shieldbase booth, and he and Diego started a good conversation. Many months later my friend told me that he has since become an investor in the company.

A few months ago, that same friend told me that Shieldbase was looking to hire and felt I would be a good fit. I didn't feel like I'd fit in very well back in employment, but after my friend assured me and I looked at the job scope, I was quite intrigued. After a few meetings with Diego and the other co-founders, I felt it's a good time to get back into this and take the plunge.

Time for a new adventure.
